Port handling statistics for the first quarter of 2014 show that organized ports and private use terminals (TUP) have handled 214.5 million gross tons, which represented a growth of 4.6% compared to the first quarter of 2013, an increase of 9.5 million tons handled.
Organized ports showed a growth of 11.4% in the first quarter of 2014 when compared with the first quarter of 2013, while private use terminals presented a growth of 1% over the same period.
